Do I qualify for the BMLDI program?
Black Male Leadership Development Institute (BMLDI) is a program which brings together African American high school males, from the Greater Pittsburgh region, to participate in a year-long program designed to increase educational and leadership opportunities for the selected participants. As long as the student has a serious interest in developing leadership skills, an adequate school attendance (report card verified), and demonstrates good standing based on character and performance,

How long is the program?
BMLDI is a year-long program. The program begins with a 7 day residential retreat on the campus of Robert Morris University (June) and continues with monthly Saturday Institutes and bi-monthly Guys' Nights Out until the formal Graduation and Rite of Passage in May of the next year.
How much does it cost?
BMLDI is FREE to all students. Students are sponsored by The Heinz Endowments & The Buhl Foundation.
Do we have to be from Pittsburgh area?
BMLDI is available FREE of charge to participants who live in the Greater Pittsburgh region.
